TN registers 482 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death

(PTI) Tamil Nadu has recorded on Friday 482 cases of COVID-19 that had not been reported and an ex-patient who had returned of Andhra Pradesh, pushing the total to 3569,624, according to the health department reported.

The death toll rose to 38,036 when a 50-year old woman dying from the virus the medical bulletin stated here.

A total of 518 victims were treated in the last 24 hours, adding up to 35,265,532 which leaves 5,056 cases open It said.

Chennai reported 75 new cases, accounting most of the new infections, followed by 57 cases in Coimbatore as well, and the remaining cases were distributed over other districts, as per the bulletin.

There were no new cases identified out of Kallakurichi and Perambalur The district of Perambalur, however, had 22 districts that have reported new infections that were less than 10, the report added.

The capital city of the state is among the top districts , with 2.161.1 active infections . total cases of 7,87,618 coronavirus.

19135 samples were tested during the last 24 hours making the total of tests tested to 6,89,42,716 according to the health bulletin stated.

According to the announcement in the bulletin, the woman is from Krishnagiri with co-morbidity was admitted at the Dharmapuri Medical College Hospital with complaints of cough, fever and breathing difficulties on the 29th of August.

She was afflicted with the virus on the 1st of September due to respiratory failure, the announcement stated.
