Redmi K60 Series Set to debut with a 2K-screen 50 Megapixel Primary Sensor

Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50 were released in March.

The Redmi K50 series that is powered by the top of the line MediaTek Dimensity SoCs was launched in China in March of this year. A possible successor to it’s the Redmi K60 series, is being considered to be in process of being developed as the next product by the Chinese smartphone maker. This series of Redmi K60 models are expected to have an HD display that has an aligned hole-punch display. It is expected to be the Redmi K60 is said to have a primary sensor of 50 megapixels. It may also include an on-display fingerprint reader, and support fast charging of 100W. Furthermore, Xiaomi is rumoured to launch the Redmi K50 Ultra next month.

Tipster Digital Chat Station from the Chinese micro blogging site Weibo reported that the prototypes of new sub-series models of the future will be powered by processors made by MediaTek and Qualcomm that are fabricated using the TSMC 4nm process. According to leaked information, phones will have a hole-punch display design , and the display will have a resolution of 2K. The phone is believed to include the main camera with a 50-megapixel sensor, and may also include scanners in the display that can be used for security. The new models are expected to support charging at 100W in addition.

According to an article from ITHome (in Chinese), the smartphone lineup mentioned by the tipter may possibly be that of that of the Redmi K60 series. It is believed that the Redmi K60 models will reportedly have a Sony IMX766 camera. According to reports, Xiaomi will also unveil Redmi K50 Ultra in August. The phone may run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and provide fast charging support of 120W. The handset is also expected to have a MediaTek Dimensity model with fast charging support of 100W.

The truth is, Xiaomi has not officially provided any details regarding Redmi K50 Ultra or the Redmi K60 series and Redmi K50 Ultra, and this information is to be taken with some caution.

For those who don’t remember to recall, it is worth noting that the Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50were launched in China in March. The first comes with the mediatek Dimensity 9000 processor, while the latter comes with an MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor. The most powerful models include liquid cooling technology along with 120Hz refresh rates, and Dolby Vision-capable 2-K-resolution displays.
