  • Aamir Khan’s starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan is scheduled to release on the 11th of August.
  • Laal Singh Chaddha attracted 54% more attention in comparison to Akshay Kumar’s Rakshabandhan as per BookMyShow.
  • Aamir Khan’s films have reported an amount of Rs280 crore per film, based on his average for his previous 3 films.

Laal Singh Chaddha is the most desired Bollywood film to be released in 2022, according to Imdb ratings, followed by Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan. Both films release on the Thursday of the long weekend in August the day before independence.

Laal Singh Chaddha is presented on over 350 screens at INOX Leisure, one of the largest theater chains in India that has 692 screens in the 73 cities. The film is a remake of the 1994 classic Tom Hanks film Forrest Gump.

“We anticipate Laal Singh Chaddha to be one of the most successful post-pandemic openings. It is likely to earn 18-20 crore (on the opening day). Similar figures are available to Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan,” Rajender Singh Jyala director of programming chief at INOX Leisure said.

Jyala added that Bollywood is likely to pick up in this second half of 2022, with mega-films such as Laal Singh Chaddha Raksha Bandhan Vikram Vedha, Brahamastra, Pathaan and Ram Setu.

Bollywood as well as movie theatres are waiting patiently for the release of a big blockbuster because the majority of the films which have made money this year are South multi-linguals or Hollywood films.

The official website of BookMyShow found that 54 percent of the Indian viewers are more keen to watch Laal Singh Chaddha, as opposed with Raksha Bandhan.

If it does not get the opening predicted by Inox Aamir’s latest film is not as good as the numerous hits Aamir has made over the years.

“Aamir Khan’s film has reported a total of Rs 280 crore for each film, on average for his three most recent films as an actor in lead roles. So, if this (opening day) estimation for Laal Singh Chadha’s film is published, it would be judged to be low, considering the size of the film” declared Karan Taurani, senior VP and analyst of marketing company Elara Capital.

The month that ended on the 31st of October, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera had a disappointing performance, with a mere the sum of Rs45 crore. Another movie released in the past, Ek Villain reported a amount of just Rs38 crore till yesterday, according to Elara Capital.
