(PTI). Former chief minister Amarinder Singh joined BJP here Monday. He merged his Punjab Lok Congress and said it was time to join the party that protects the country’s security and interests.
Singh, 80, joined the BJP at its headquarters with Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar (and Kiren Rijiju) and several Punjab leaders. Raninder Singh, his son, and Jai Inder Kaur, joined the saffron party.
The remarks were made by the former chief minister of Punjab, who had a long association to the Congress. He also highlighted his security concerns regarding Punjab amid “increasing animosity” with Pakistan. This is something that he has been experiencing with “growing dismay”.
