(PTI) India recorded 6,093 new coronavirus cases which brought the total of COVID-19-related cases to 4,44,84729 as active cases decreased to 49,636, according reports from Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
The death toll rose to 5,28,121, with 31 deaths including 13 deaths that were reconciled by Kerala the latest figures at 8 am.
The active cases make up 0.11 percent of total number of infections, and the COVID-19 recovery rate in the country has risen to 98.70 percent as per the ministry.
A drop of 706 cases reported in the COVID-19 cases in the span time of just 24 hours.

The daily positive rate was recorded as 1.93 percent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 1.88 percent According to the ministry.
The number of patients who recovered from disease grew to 4,39,06,972 as the death rate was recorded as 1.19 percent.
The ministry says that 214.55 million doses Covid vaccine have been given across the country as part of the COVID-19 national vaccination campaign.
The COVID-19 count in India reached 20 lakh on the 7th of August 2020, 30, thousand on the 23rd of August and forty lakhs on the 5th of September, and fifty lakh by September 16. It crossed 60 lakh on September 28 and 70 lakh on the 11th of October 11, surpassed 80 lakh on the 29th of October and 90 lakh on the 20th of November and crossed 1 crore on the 19th of December.
The country crossed the alarming mark of two crores on May 4, and three crore on the 23rd of June the previous year. It reached the four-crore mark on January 25, 2018.
The 18 fatalities that have been reported are six from Maharashtra Three each and three each from Delhi in Delhi and Karnataka.
