A seismic event of 3.5 magnitude strikes Katra in J&K

(PTI) A low-intensity earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 was felt in the Reasi district in Jammu as well as Kashmir in Kashmir on the evening of Thursday. authorities said.


No injuries or damages caused to the property has been reported, according to the report.

The quake hit Katra which is home to the holy cave that is the home of Mata Vaishnodevi in Trikuta hills around 7.52 am, the officials said.

The epicentre was located at an elevation that was 33.14 degrees north and a longitude at 75.58 degrees east with 10 km in depth.

This month thirteen earthquakes with low intensity struck Doda, Reasi, Kishtwar and Udhampur districts in the Jammu region.
