A massive fire has erupted near Chandni Chowk metro station in Delhi

(PTI) A major fire started in a house close to the Chandni Chowk metro station here the authorities said on Monday.


There hasn’t been any casualties confirmed as of yet according to the report.

Atul Garg, director, Delhi Fire Service said a call regarding an blaze was made at 10.40 midnight on Sunday.

He claimed that the fire department sent six firefighters brought to the area at first. The fire alarm was later upgraded to serious , and an additional 40 fire tenders were rushed to put out the flames. Over 150 firefighters were deployed to the area.

Garg claimed that the fire was put under control on Monday morning.

The reason for the incident is still being determined The cause is being investigated, he explained.
